TDP activist done to death in Anantapur district

ANANTAPUR: A TDP activist of Gummepalli village of Garladinne mandal in the district was done to death in the wee hours of Wednesday. His throat was slit by the assailants leading to his death on the spot. According to the police, Adi Reddy,48, was sleeping in front of his house alone as his family members were out of station, when the incident occurred. He had no enmity in the village. His wife, who returned to the village after learning about her husband's killing said they had no problem with anybody in the village.

Meanwhile, TDP Polit Bureau member and former MP K. Srinivasulu alleged that it was a pre-planned act by the Congress. By eliminating active TDP workers physically the ruling party was trying create a terror in villages and thus win a maximum number of seats in the local bodies and sarpanch elections.

Adi Reddy was an active campaigner for the TDP in Gummepalli and surrounding villages and he had played a key role in the election of a TDP supporter as WUA president last year.
