Areva T&D Q1 net up

BANGALORE: Areva T&D India, the Indian arm of the transmission and distribution division of the global energy major Areva, registered a net profit of Rs. 23.64 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2006, against Rs. 8.49 crore in the same period last year. Sales have increased by 69 per cent to Rs. 406.79 crore from Rs. 240.20 crore. The current order backlog is close to Rs. 1,400 crore, up 95 per cent.
