Areva T & D profit up

CHENNAI: Areva T & D has reported a net profit of Rs. 23.64 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, against Rs. 8.47 crore in the corresponding quarter in 2004-05. The turnover has risen to Rs. 406.79 crore from Rs. 240.20 crore. Transmission and distribution has achieved 81 per cent increase in sales and non-T & D segment has also maintained its upward growth and achieved 31 per cent increase. The current order backlog is close to Rs. 1,400 crore, up 95 per cent.
