PONDICHERRY: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has polled 31,099 votes out of a total of 34,508 votes polled in Thattanchavady, his home constituency, which he has been holding since 1991. With the Congress-led Democratic Progressive Alliance having garnered 20 seats, the efforts to form the next government will begin soon. A couple of AICC observers will visit Pondicherry on Friday, party sources said. A meeting of the MLAs of the Congress, the DMK, the Pattali Makkal Katchi and the CPI will take place in the next few days to work out the modalities of forming the next government. With the Congress set to elect the Congress Legislature Party leader, the choice will be unanimous. The AICC functionaries were all praise for Mr. Rangasamy for having ensured good governance.
