Satyajit Ray magic

Staff Reporter

bangalore: Satyajit Ray's movies are indeed immortal and a kind of reference and benchmark for the more talented among our young film-makers.

Two of Ray's classics are being brought to the city by Suchitra Film Society, which works towards promoting the appreciation of good films.

"Devi" will be screened at 6.45 p.m. on Saturday and "Charulata" at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Film Society's auditorium on B.V. Karanth Road.

With the limited technology and resources at his command, Ray made several films, widely acclaimed by discerning audiences and critics worldwide.
