GUNTUR: Book reading habit is on the wane among schoolchildren, with the electronic media capturing their entire attention in free time, said renowned orthopaedician S. Amarnadh. Inaugurating the Visaalandhra Summer Book Festival in their renovated showroom here on Thursday, Dr. Amarnadh said that these days students did not get time to read beyond their textbooks. Such book festivals would definitely encourage students to take up reading, he said. CPI district secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao and Visaalandhra manager Anand attended the inaugural.
