On the tenterhooks
After a spree of burglaries at jewellery shops and thefts at banks, now it seems to be the turn of mysterious explosions to rock the State Capital.
Even as sleuths are struggling to solve the explosion in Odeon theatre reported last Sunday, one more blast took them by surprise on Thursday.
This time it was in the house of a retired small-time private firm employee.
But detectives felt relieved on learning that it was a crude bomb that can be made even by amateurs using locally available low intensity explosive material.
"Anyway a blast is a blast and we cannot take chances. Probably our stars are going wrong these days," an apparently worried police officer said.
