DEMANDING JUSTICE: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staging rasta roko in Hubli on Friday.
HUBLI: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat staged rasta roko here on Thursday urging for corrective measures to solve the Common Entrance Test imbroglio. Several members of ABVP from various colleges staged blocked traffic on the Old National Highway between Hubli and Dharwad near the Sri Kadasiddheshwar Arts College. They raised slogans urging for a single window system for streamlining the admission process to the engineering and medical colleges. They also urged the State Government to order for cancellation of the proposed Common Entrance Test being conducted by the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K). Leaders of ABVP who addressed the protestors alleged that COMED-K was holding the separate CET in gross violation of the Supreme Court judgment. But even then the State Government had failed to initiate any action, they said.
