Director-General William Dar received the award for the Agri-Business Incubator (ABI) from Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia here on the occasion of National Technology Day on Friday. Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal was present. The ABI was selected in recognition of the "excellent work done in promoting technology-based ventures in the agri-biotechnology sector." Dr. Dar said the award was a testimony to the institute's success in attracting public-private partnerships for developing agricultural technologies into successful agri-business ventures. The ABI was established with financial support from the Ministry's National Science Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board.
