Masquerade to organise theatre workshop

CHENNAI: `Casual and stretchable cotton clothing is mandatory' says the circular for `Getting into the Skin', a theatre workshop organised by Masquerade.

The folks at Masquerade say that you have to use your voice, body, movements and gestures to be successful in theatre, and they promise to show you how to do it through this course.

`Getting into the Skin' will be held from May 22 to 30 from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. (excluding weekends) and is open to people 16 years and above. The maximum number of participants is 24, and applications must be submitted by May 15.

The theatre company will also be performing `Parrots' Lies', written by Andreas Marber. It is a humorous expose of employees in the creative industry, constantly with knives in the backs of others, in a desperate attempt to regain their perceived lost reputations.

The play has plenty of expletives and is advised for people 16 years and above.

The play will be staged on May 19 at 7.15 p.m., on May 20 at 3.15 p.m. and 7.15 p.m., on May 21 at 3.15 p.m. and 7.15 p.m. at Alliance Francaise. Tickets are priced at Rs.100 and will be available from May 10 at Landmark (Nungambakkam), Alliance Francaise and Words&Worth (Besant Nagar).
