INSAT PICTURE AT 11-30 hrs. Observations recorded at 8-30 a.m. on May 12.
The columns show maximum and minimum temperature in Celsius, rainfall during last 24 hours (trace) and total rainfall in mm since March 1, 2006.
Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed over coastal Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are:- Denkanikottai (Krishnagiri dt) and Mysore 4 each, Ketti (Nilgiris dt) and Nilakottai (Dindigul dt) 3 each, Dharmapuri, Barur (Krishnagiri dt.), Uthagamandalam, Mudigere (Chikmagalur dt), Channapatna and Kanakapura (both Bangalore rural dt) 2 each and Valparai, Udumalpet (Coimbatore dt), Karurparamathi, Marungapuri (Tiruchirapalli dt), Dindigul, Bangalore, Bangalore Airport, Bandipura (Chamrajnagar dt), Yelahanka, Hosekote, Magadi and Nelamangala (all Bangalore Rural dt) 1 each.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature rose at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.
They were appreciably to markedly above normal at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, above normal at a few places over Kerala, at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest Rayalaseema, rest coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka and were generally normal elsewhere over the region.
Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius in the region.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
