BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj SinghChauhan, who has won the Budhni by-election, took the oath as member of the State Assembly on Friday. Mr. Chauhan was sworn-in as MLA by the Assembly Speaker, Ishwardas Rohani. Prominent among those present on this occasion were the Deputy Assembly Speaker, Hazarilal Raghuvanshi, former Chief Minister, Sunderlal Patwa, senior State Ministers, Raghavji, Narendra Singh Tomar, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Ajay Vishnoi, and Narottam Mishra. Talking to journalists after the swearing-in some Ministers were unanimous in pointing out that nothing much should be read in the outcome of the latest round of elections in few States and more particularly Rae Bareili. The Bharatiya Janata Party had not made any claims and the results in these elections have not surprised any one, said Mr. Tomar, the State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat. He said that the Chief Minister has already won the Budhni seat by a huge margin and the BJP is sure to repeat its performance in Vidisha. The Vidisha parliamentary seat has now been vacated by the Chief Minister. He represented it in Parliament for five consecutive terms.
