ONGOLE : The Government is considering a proposal to extend the facility of one-time settlement of cooperative loans to all farmers displaced by construction of irrigation projects in the State. Minister for Cooperation Kanna Lakshminarayana revealed this at a press conference here on Friday. He said that the Government had sanctioned Rs. 50 crores for Integrated Cooperative Development Program in Prakasam district. Mr. Lakhsminarayana, who is also Minister for Transport, said that the APSRTC would utilise vacant site available in 109 bus depots in the State for construction of shopping complexes on build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The APSRTC had already called for tenders for construction of such shopping complexes at Visakhaptnam and Hyderabad to augment its income. He said the APSRTC was planning to run mini buses to the interior areas. To a question, he said that there was no proposal to bring Rytu Bazars under the cooperative fold.
