CHENNAI: The city police have announced traffic diversion in and around the Nehru Indoor Stadium at 11 a.m. on Saturday for the swearing in of the new Chief Minister. A release from the Chennai City Traffic Police said Dr. Raja Muthiah Salai (Sydenhams Road) would be closed to all vehicular traffic, except those vehicles coming to the function with passes. Vepery High Road would be closed for all vehicles except those vehicles coming to the venue with passes. Vehicles proceeding on Dr. Raja Muthiah Salai from EVR Salai would be diverted and would take the route via E.V.K. Sampath Salai, Jeremiah Road, Hunters Road and Choolai High Road. Vehicles proceeding on Dr. Raja Muthiah Sali from Choolai roundabout would be diverted and would take the Elephant Gate Bridge, Walltax Road and E.V.R. Salai. Vehicles on Vepery High Road from Choolai and Purasaiwalkam would be diverted to take E.V.K. Sampath Salai and E.V.R. Salai. Vehicles with white and blue colour passes would take Dr. Raja Muthiah Salai and enter the gate number 1 of the stadium. Vehicles with yellow colour passes would take Dr. Raja Muthiah Salai and enter through the gate number 4. The guests would be alighting near gate number 5 and their vehicles would be parked inside the stadium. Vehicles with red passes would take Dr. Raja Muthiah Salai and would enter the function venue through gate number 2.

The guests would be alighting near Myladye's Garden and the vehicles would be parked inside the stadium. Vehicles with orange colour passes or without passes would take Choolai High Road and would be parked at Kannappar Thidal, the release added.
