Power shutdown

KOCHI: Areas served by the Vyttila electricity substation will face partial power shutdown between 9.30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.

On Monday, power supply from feeders at Fort Kochi, Binny, Thoppumpady, Amaravati, Fire Station, Koovapadom and Aroor will be partially shut down between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., said Executive Engineer, Kerala State Electricity Board Mattancherry substation. This is for urgent maintenance work on the 110-kv substation. — Staff Reporter

Hacked to death

KOCHI: M.R. Antony, 87, of Palathuruthu, near Kumaranasan Nagar, was hacked to death by his younger son Biju on Friday night, the police said.

The accused has been arrested.

The incident took place at around 11 p.m., the police said. — Staff Reporter
