KOCHI: Nearly 300 nurses participated in a rally to mark the district-level Nurses Day celebration on Friday. The rally started from General Hospital and passed through Menaka junction before reaching Maharaja's College auditorium. Mayor Mercy Williams inaugurated the public meeting that followed the rally. K.T. Remani, District Medical Officer (DMO), presided over the function. Ruby Josamma, head nurse, read out a report. K.S. Mohandas, Principal, Maharaja's College; N.A. Ramachandra, Deputy DMO; Junaid Rehman, Resident Medical Officer, General Hospital; Vijaya Vishwanathan, Principal, Government School of Nursing; and N. Valsala, nursing superintendent, General Hospital; spoke. Dr. Remani gave away the prizes for various competitions held during the week-long celebrations. T. Padmini Amma, nursing superintendent, General Hospital, proposed a vote of thanks.
