Power shutdown in several areas

The Bangalore Supply and Electricity Company Limited (BESCOM) has said that there will be no power supply on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The areas that will be affected are Manorayanapalya, Sultanpalya, Atmananda colony, Ganesha Block, P&T staff quarters, M.M. Layout, Rathan Singh Layout, Shampura, Ambedkar Medical College, K.G. Halli, Coffee Board Colony, Ashoka Nagar, D.G. Halli. Modi Road, BEL corporate office, Chanakya layout, Vidya Sagar, Thanisandra Main Road, Mariyapannaplaya, Defence Colony, Kempapura, R.T. Nagar 1st Block, Thimmiah Garden and surrounding areas.

No sale of meat

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has banned the sale of meat in all shops in buildings owned by it on Saturday in view of Buddha Purnima.

The office of the Commissioner for Disabilities with assistance from the Alternative Law Forum, Bangalore, is providing free legal aid to the disabled at the office of the commissioner on May 17 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
