Mauritius Vice-President to visit coir factory

ALAPPUZHA: Mauritius Vice-President Abdul Rauf Bundhin will visit Koncherry Coir Factory here on May 15, managing partner of the factory K.S. Sanjeev has said.

Mr. Bundhin arrives here as part of his visit to Kerala.

At a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Sanjeev and partners of the factory K.S. Subhas and K.S. Shibu said Mr. Bundhin would arrive at 3 p.m. A 25-member team will accompany the Vice-President. Mr. Bundhin will discuss with the management of the factory the processing of coconut husk and the technology being used for the manufacture of coir mats and mattings.

Mr. Sanjeev said good quality coconut husk was easily available in Mauritius and the country had the potential to become a leading manufacturer of coir products.

He said the management and workers of the Koncherry factory had completed all arrangements to make the visit of Mr. Bundhin a success.
