Kodagu registers 62.9 p.c. passes in SSLC exam

4,834 of the 7,684 students cleared the examination

Madikeri: Kodagu district has registered a 62.9 per cent pass in the SSLC examination with 4,834 of the 7,684 students, who had taken the exam in March, passing.

Girls have registered 66.01pass percentage with 2,535 of the 3,840 clearing the exam.

Of the 3,834 boys who had appeared for the exam, 2,332 have passed with a pass percentage of 60.82. Students from 121 schools, including private, aided and unaided institutions, appeared for the examination.

From 38 schools in Madikeri taluk, 2,289 students had appeared and 1,517 passed (66.27 per cent), from the 40 schools in Virajpet taluk, 2,283 students appeared and 1,462 passed (64.03 per cent) and from 50 schools in Somwarpet taluk 3,112 students took exams and 1,855 passed (59.60 per cent).

The taluk-wise statistics is as follows:

Madikeri: Boys: 1,155 appeared and 726 passed (62.85 per cent); girls: 1,154 appeared and 800 passed (69.84 per cent).

Virajpet: Boys: 1,112 appeared and 695 passed (62.50 per cent); Girls: 1,141 appeared and 775 passed (67.92 per cent).

Somwarpet: Boys: 1,567 appeared and 911 passed (58.15 per cent); girls: 1,545 appeared and 954 passed (61.74 per cent).
