GUNTUR: Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) will soon launch a State-wide campaign to dissuade people from having aerated cool drinks and encourage them to go for natural drinks like tender coconut water, buttermilk, `lassi' and fruit juice. At the State meet of JVV here on Saturday, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal professor and JVV State unit president A. Ramachandraiah said that studies by Centre for Environmental Sciences had proved that aerated cool drinks were harmful to health. "Even the JPC headed by Sharad Pawar had endorsed the ill-effects of those drinks, as they contained pesticide residues," he said.
