Dry weather likely in coastal T.N.

CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over interior Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over coastal Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Dharmapuri recorded a heavy rainfall of 9 centimetres.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Bangalore 3, Attur (Salem dt) and Sivakasi (Virudhunagar dt) 2 each and Vellore, Gudalur Bazaar (Nilgiris dt) and Mandya 1 each.

On Friday, the maximum temperature rose at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over south interior Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly to appreciably above normal at a few places over north Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, above normal at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, interior Karnataka, rest coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region. Nandyal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius in the region.

Forecast (valid until Monday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Monday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu and mainly sunny weather will prevail over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
