MYSORE: Mysore district has registered a pass percentage of 68.84 in the SSLC examination. The results of the exam were announced here on Saturday. The district has been ranked 21 in the State and this is a marginal improvement over last year's performance when it was ranked 22nd with a pass percentage of 58 per cent. In all, 35,036 students appeared for the examination this year of which 24,118 students passed. Of 18,328 boys who appeared for the examination, 12,279 passed, and out of 16,708 girls who appeared for the exam, 11,839 have passed. Hunsur taluk recorded the highest pass percentage with 80.06 per cent. In T.Narsipur, 3,474 students appeared and 2,109 passed (60.70 per cent); Nanjangud, 6,283 appeared of which 4,633 passed (73.73 per cent); K.R. Nagar, 3,473 students appeared and 2,382 students cleared the examination (68.56 per cent); in H.D.Kote, 2,734 students appeared and 1,771 passed (64.77 per cent) and in T. Narsipur taluk, 3,162 appeared out of which 1,947 passed the examination (61.57 per cent). J. Pruthvi of Sadvidya High School here scored 616 marks out of 625 which was the highest marks scored in the SSLC examination by any student in the district. Among schools that notched up impressive pass figures, Sadvidya High School scored 99.7 per cent and out of 390 students who appeared for the examination, 389 have passed and 39 students have scored more than 600 out of 625 marks. Students of Gnanaganga Vidyapeetha at Kuvempunagar have performed well. Of the 147 students who took the exam, 143 have passed with an aggregate pass percentage of 97.28. Chamarajanagar Correspondent reports: Chamaraanagar district has recorded a pass percentage of 67.32 in the SSLC examination. Out of 1,0918 students who appeared for the examination, 7,350 have passed. Boys fared better than girls. Kollegal taluk with 87.44 per cent topped in the district.
