Sarada Vilas Institution, offering education par excellence.

Today's world being competitive, time and space are compressed, success and survival depend on acquiring knowledge. In this context, higher education plays a paramount role in moulding youngsters to face the challenges of the future. Sarada Vilas College is precisely on this and their vision is on similar lines.

`Providing quality higher education to all sections of the society at an affordable cost' is their mission.

The college was accredited in 2004 but the institution campus is about 145 years old. Sarada Vilas College located at the heart of Mysore, is a fragrant flower in the bouquet of the famous Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions (R). Born as small `English - Sanskrit Patashala' in the year 1861, under the guidance of Bakshi Narasappa with the patronage of Mummadi Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar, it has grown to great heights. Started as an intermediate College in the year 1945, Sarada Vilas College grew into First Grade College in 1952, offering Bachelors degree in Science streams.

Today the college has six combinations leading to Bachelors degree in Science, encompassing both physical and natural sciences. The Institution is now being managed under the dynamic leadership of B.S. Ranga Iyengar (president) and S. Krishnamurthy (secretary).

Faculty at Sarada Vilas College is a home for committed, knowledgeable and willing teachers in every academic stream. Among its elite faculty are three Doctorates, four M.Phils., five research scholars in addition to other professors, readers and lecturers.

It has state-of-the- art facilities like a well stocked library with a collection of more than 30,000 books besides a large number of reference books. The laboratories are equipped with most modern equipments, charts, specimens and slides. The College is also equipped with network resource facility financed by the UGC.

It also offers number of activities that have an impact on the student's academic success, which include Literary Club, Nature Club, Association of Computer and Electronic Science, Chemical Society, Physics Forum, NSS, NCC and Students Forum.

Success at the college has its own narration, with high percentage of passes with good number of first classes and ranks. SVC has a Career Guidance Cell, where career-counseling facilities are provided to our students.

Accommodation for students are made available in hostels situated around the College.
