KOLLAM: Hundreds of persons from all walks of life paid their last respects here to the former Health Minister B. Wellingdon, who passed away on May 11 at Alathur. He was laid to rest at the cemetery of Aravila Mukkad Holy Family Church in the evening on Saturday with police honours. The body was kept at his house at Polayathodu here on Friday morning for the public to pay their last respects. On Saturday, the body was kept at his ancestral house at Kavanad. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, with his wife, arrived there in the afternoon and paid his respects. Those who paid their last respects on Saturday include district panchayat president K. Devaki and Planning Board Vice-Chairman C.V. Padmarajan. Following the funeral, a condolence meeting was held at Mukkad. Various leaders addressed the meeting.
