CHENNAI: A delegation of the minorities called on DMK president M. Karunanidhi at the party headquarters here on Saturday and complimented him on his becoming the Chief Minister. The 14-member delegation was led by Federation of Minorities president Peter Fernando. It included general secretary S. Hyder Ali, and Ezra Sargunam. Mr.Sargunam later told presspersons that the delegation expressed confidence in and support to the new government and reminded Mr.Karunanidhi of the DMK's election promises with regard to the reservation for the minorities in education and employment. The members also sought the repeal of the legislation banning forcible religious conversions.
