`Chennithala should resign'

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has asked KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala to resign from the party post in view of UDF's debacle in the elections.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Mr. Natesan said that UDF had to face successive defeats after Mr. Chennithala took over as the KPCC president.

He alleged that Mr. Chennithala was responsible for the defeat of UDF candidates in this election.

The party had suffered its worst defeat in the elections held earlier for the Lok Sabha and local bodies under the leadership of Mr. Chennithala, the Yogam leader said.

Mr. Natesan alleged that KSU president P.C. Vishnunath had wrested the Chengannur seat by garnering the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He claimed that the SNDP Yogam had played a key role in the victory of the LDF candidates in various constituencies.
