MYSORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has announced an assistance of Rs. 40 crore for organising the "Panchalinga Darshana" at Talakad in Mysore district on a grand scale this November. The Panchalinga Darshana, which is celebrated once every 12 years at Talakad, about 50 km from here, will be organised on the lines of the Mahamastakabhisheka at Shravanabelagola, with the Government taking steps to make the event a grand success, Mr. Kumaraswamy told presspersons at Suttur Math, near here, on Saturday. All roads to Talakad in T. Narsipur taluk of Mysore district will be developed, and arrangements made for the convenience of devotees The Government will spend Rs. 5.5 crore on providing drinking water and other basic facilities, including temporary accommodation, for devotees. Mr. Kumaraswamy held a meeting with MLAs from Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts and elicited their views on conducting the Panchalinga Darshana. Mr. Kumaraswamy said the Government was planning to celebrate the Dasara festival in Mysore this year on a grand scale.
