`Seats available for merit students'

BANGALORE: Medical Education Minister V.S. Acharya said on Saturday that unaided private colleges offering Indian Systems of Medicine, homoeopathy, nursing and paramedical courses have said they will offer students in the General Merit category the number of seats allotted to them through the Common Entrance Test last year. Speaking to The Hindu , he said the Government had succeeded in convincing managements of private colleges to continue last year's seat matrix. There was no change in the government-pooled seats for merit category students.
