Staff Reporter

Threatens to quit RTC post, politics if Congress fails to heed his appeal

  • Congress' credibility will take a beating
  • Matter will be taken to the notice of APCC president, Chief Minister
  • Mukunda Reddy should not have any say in selection of candidates for panchayat elections

KARIMNAGAR: APSRTC Chairman Gone Prakash Rao has urged the Congress party high command not to accept the entry of TRS rebel legislators into the party fold as it will send wrong signals and affect the party's prospects in the coming panchayat elections. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Prakash Rao said he would represent the matter to Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Keshava Rao and Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. "If the party fails to respect my sentiments, I will be forced to resign to my post and leave politics permanently,'' he warned.

Opposing the Congress' decision to appoint Peddapalli TRS MLA Geetla Mukunda Reddy as the in charge of the Congress in the Assembly segment for the local body elections, he said Mr. Mukunda Reddy had been elected as legislator the plank of statehood for Telangna, while the Congress manifesto was clear about the constitution of second SRC on the issue.
