Course on legal literacy

The Centre for Women's Studies of Avinashilingam University will organise a short-term course on legal literacy from May 16 to 20. Self-help group members and other community women are expected to participate.

The objective of the course is to create awareness about law among women. V.P. Sarathy, Chairperson, Human Rights Forum, Coimbatore, will inaugurate the course.

Training programme

The Coimbatore Productivity Council will organise a two-week Evening Training Programme, `Supervisory Skills Development', from May 15 to 27.

Braille facility for voters

The Association for the Rights of the Visually Challenged has requested the Election Commission to extend the facility of Braille reading to the visually impaired voters throughout the country.

This would give them the confidence that they have voted for the right person and the party, a release from the Association said.

The Election Commission introduced the system in Poonga Nagar and R.K. Nagar booths in Chennai for the recent Assembly elections.
