Visakha Dairy hikes milk price

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakha Dairy will hike the price of milk by Re.1 a litre from May 16. It is in view of growing production cost of milk and a consequent increase in procurement price paid to farmers by more than Rs.1.40 a litre of buffalo milk, according to a release of Sri Vijaya Visakha Milk Producers Company Limited. A sachet of toned milk (500 ml) which is being sold at Rs.7.50, will now cost Rs.8. Skim milk (500 ml), sold for Rs.6.00, will be sold for Rs.6.50.
