Gas kit explosion in garage damages three cars

2 motorcycles damaged; none injured

VISAKHAPATNAM: A gas car was completely destroyed and two others damaged in an accident at a garage near Venkojipalem on Saturday.

The car, which had a gas kit, was at the garage when gas leaked around 8 p.m. and a blast occurred. In all, three cars and two motorcycles were damaged in the accident. No one was injured. Police Commissioner V.S.K. Kaumudi and fire officials visited the scene.

Three Town police are investigating the case.

Body found

The body of an unidentified man was found on the railway track near Rammurthy Pantulupeta on Saturday. The man aged around 50 years was wearing a pair of khaki trousers. The body was severed into two pieces. An inquest was conducted on the body. Government Railway Police SI Raja Rao is investigating the case.

Man found hanging

A man died under suspicious circumstances at Desapatrunipalem on Saturday.

M. Atchaiah Naidu, a technician in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house at Desapatrunipalem on Saturday morning. His family members rushed him to the Steel General Hospital, where he was declared dead. Atchaiah Naidu, who was earlier staying with his in-laws, had recently shifted to his own house at Desapatrunipalem. There were strangulation marks on his neck, which raised doubts about the cause of death. The Parawada Police are investigating the case.

Computer stolen

A computer was stolen from the office of the weighbridge located in the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone.

According to the Gajuwaka Police, the office incharge U. Srinivas lodged a complaint on Saturday that the monitor and CPU were found missing from the office today. Investigation is on.
