CPI demands scrapping of GO on aided posts

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India has urged Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to withdraw the GO, which banned filling of vacant aided posts in colleges and other institutions of higher education.

In a letter to Dr. Reddy, CPI State council secretary K. Narayana said that when thousands of suitable lecturers/professors were required to handle the State's huge higher education sector, GO 35 would be detrimental to the interests of lakhs of students belonging to backward communities.
