VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was flooded with representations and memoranda by various trade unions, associations and individuals during his visit to various places in the city on Saturday. The Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Federation sought the scrapping of English Medium, which was introduced in Standard I and II in Municipal Corporation Schools last year, and revival of Telugu Medium. The federation leaders S. Venkata Ramana and Nimma Venkata Rao said that children should be taught in mother tongue at the primary level for better understanding. They also sought filling up of 385 teacher posts which were vacant in Municipal Corporation School and payment of salaries on the first of every month. State president Jalagadugula Raj Gopal and general secretary Nimmakayala Appa Rao of Andhra Pradesh Relli Kula Sankshema Seva Sangham have sought the categorisation of Scheduled Castess for the betterment of the Relli community.
Revivial package
The BHPV Mazdoor Sangh has sought a revival package for the company to tide over its crisis. The company has more than Rs.450 crores work orders on hand at present, but due to lack of working capital, it is unable to execute the same, according to the incharge general secretary of the union J. Suryanarayana. He appealed to Dr. Reddy to strive for getting an early sanction for revival package which is pending with the Centre and save the industry .
