MADURAI: The Indian, formerly Indian Airlines, has introduced a `Companion Fare' scheme for travel to Singapore. The airline offers one free ticket to accompanying passenger on purchase of one Chennai-Singapore-Chennai ticket. Under the scheme, on purchase of one economy class ticket (Rs. 20,900 plus taxes) or executive class ticket (Rs. 28,600 plus taxes) the accompanying passenger will get a free ticket by paying the tax amount that will come around Rs.3,361. Both the passengers should travel together in the same flight during both outbound and inbound journeys. The offer would be valid for purchase and commencement of journey till July 31 and the minimum stay at the destination would be three nights and a maximum of seven nights. The offer is also available for passengers from Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kochi. Tickets could be purchased from any IA- approved travel agency while the free ticket should be collected from IA offices in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode or Kochi on submission of an application form and payment of applicable taxes and levies.
