Navdeep does well

NEW DELHI: Former National junior champion Navdeep Singh made the singles quarterfinals and the doubles semifinals in the $10,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament in Syros, Greece.

Navdeep lost 4-6, 4-6 to his doubles partner James Cerretani of the US in the quarterfinals. He had beaten beaten Rabie Chaki of Morocco 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-4 in the first round and Dimitris Lovcareas of Freece 6-4, 5-2 (retired) in the second round. In doubles, Navdeep and James beat Claudio Grassi of Italy and Omri Masin of Israel 6-3, 6-3 in the second round to set up a semifinal clash against the top-seeded Joshua Goodall and Richard Irwin of Britain.
