MEXICO CITY: Former Olympic champion Marion Jones ran the year's second fastest 100m on her seasonal debut, timing in 11.06s at Veracruz, Mexico, on Saturday. It was the 30-year-old American's first appearance in 11 months, and her fastest time since 2004. However, the winning time for the triple gold-medal winner at the 2000 Sydney Olympics was more than four-tenths of a second off her personal best of 10.65 seconds set in 1998. Former World champion Torri Edwards finished a distant second in 11.30s. — Xinhua
