Jaipur connected to Sharjah by direct air service

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Jaipur was directly connected by air to Sharjah over the week-end, establishing the Pink City's second link with the Middle East after the Dubai flights, with the first Air Arabia flight arriving at Sanganer Airport here on Friday. The Sharjah-based low-fare airline has announced that it will operate daily flights to Jaipur.

The fares for the one-way trip start from as low as Rs. 3,099, exclusive of taxes and surcharges. The fares are based on supply and demand and booking early would benefit the travellers the most, according to Air Arabia.

The direct flight will bring relief to expatriates from the desert State in the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere in the Middle East, who had to travel to Jaipur via Delhi. The present Indian flight to Dubai makes the stopover in Delhi on both the ways. An estimated 6-lakh people from Rajasthan engaged in business or employed in the Government and private companies in the Gulf will benefit from the Air Arabia flights. Besides, the new route has a potential for increased business.
