Shivraj Singh visits Budhni

Chief Minister calls for proper utilisation of public funds

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan addressed a series of public meetings in his Budhni constituency on Sunday and said that strict action would be taken against any body found guilty of misutilisation of public funds.

The Chief Minister began a two-day "Vikas Yatra" (journey for development) by addressing a public meeting at Gopalpur village in the Budhni area of Sehore district on Sunday.

This was his first visit to his constituency after his victory in the Budhni by-election. On this occasion, he urged the people's representatives to ensure proper utilization of public funds.

The Chief Minister also addressed public meetings at Nasrullaganj and Rehti and met villagers at Pandagaon, Nayagaon, Gillor, Borkheda, Rala, Nandgaon, Khanpura, Satrana, Ramghada and Kalwana.

The Chief Minister gave the assurance that his Government would try its level best to come up to people's expectations. In a direct message to the farmers, he said that the Government was ready to consider every option when it comes to meeting their irrigation needs. He said that separate budgetary allocation was also being made for constructing new stop dams.

Mr. Chauhan said that full benefit of various welfare schemes of the Government can percolate to the common man only through people's participation. He reiterated the State Government's commitment towards development and said that the Government's latest decision to bear the marriage expenses of girls belonging to the deprived sections as well as its "jalabhishek" programme and the fifty per cent subsidy being given for constructing village ponds would leave a lasting impact.

The Chief Minister announced that soon the villages would have the facility of mobile dispensary units for free medical check up and to refer the poor patients to well equipped hospitals.
