Civil services exam conducted smoothly

HYDERABAD: The Civil services preliminary examination held at 49 centres in the city on Sunday went off without any hiccups. According to Hyderabad Collector Arvind Kumar, who is also coordinating supervisor for the examination, 9,725 candidates took the examination in the morning.

He said 49 senior officers of the district supervised the conduct of the examination while 60 others assisted them. The Collector visited the centres at St. Francis College, Begumpet, Wesley Co-education College in Secunderabad, Parsi High School in Parklane, Indira Priyadarshini College and Vanita Mahavidyalaya at Nampally to see the arrangements. In the afternoon, 9,514 students appeared for the examination. The Collector said that UPSC Secretary S.P. Gour, who was overseeing the conduct of the examination, complimented the district officials for the smooth conduct of the exam.
