Forum for disabled launched

Corporates asked to provide them with more employment opportunities

CHENNAI:
The Supporters of Freedom Trust (SOFT), a forum to aid in the rehabilitation of the physically challenged, was launched in Chennai on Sunday.
SOFT is promoted by the Freedom Trust, an NGO working to help economically backward people cope with disability. Inaugurating the forum, Arun Jain, CEO, Polaris Software Lab Ltd, called upon corporates to contribute to society. T.A.P. Varadakutti, president of the TN Association for the Welfare of the Physically Handicapped, wanted corporates to provide employment to the physically challenged. M. Chandran, District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer, said the role of NGOs was important in rehabilitation of the physically challenged. A website, www.freedomtrustchennai.org, was launched.
