HYDERABAD: The Twin Cities Local Lorry Owners Association has decided to postpone its indefinite bandh in the backdrop of Supreme Court directing the State Government to allow 15-year-old goods vehicles ply in HUDA limits and confine its ban to areas falling under the MCH limits. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held with the local lorry owners here on Sunday.
Memo today
Association General Secretary K. Rajeshwar Rao said a memorandum would be submitted to the Transport Commissioner Ajay Misra on Monday requesting him to allow the old vehicles ply under the HUDA limits following Court's directions. He said the Government had earlier issued a GO imposing a ban on entry or plying of 15-year-old vehicles under the HUDA limits that spread over the twin cities and surrounding municipalities. "We are also planning to meet Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday to explain the problems being faced by lorry owners due to the ban on plying of old vehicles," Mr. Rajeshwar Rao said.
