Free computer courses for housewives

The Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology is offering free computer courses for students, unemployed youth and housewives belonging to weaker ections. Those desirous of availing themselves of the programme should have passed Intermediate and must be in the age group of 18 to 35 years. Next batch commences on June 2. French classes from May 18

`Maha satsang' held

The Art of Living Foundation's Andhra Pradesh Information Centre organised a `maha satsang' at Goshamahal Stadium, Nampally, on Saturday as part of 50th birthday celebrations of Sri Sri Ravishankar. More than 5,000 disciples and others participated in the celebrations which were in continuation of silver jubilee celebrations held earlier in Bangalore, according to a press release.

Awards for students

The Deccan Federation of Private Schools organised a function to award meritorious students in SSC and school toppers on Saturday at Prakasham Hall, Gandhi Bhavan. Farooq Hussain, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Minorities Finance Corporation who was chief guest, presented the awards, according to a press release.
