NEW YORK: A burglar who got stuck in a chimney in Manhattan on Sunday morning was rescued after a woman who lives in the building next door heard a whimpering from within the walls. Emergency personnel broke through the brick chimney of the residential building and used ropes to pull out the man, about 160 cm tall and weighing 50 kg. Covered in soot and grime, he was arrested on burglary charges and taken to hospital. Police said it was unclear whether he was going in or coming out of the chimney or how he became stuck. AP
