GUNTUR: The pass percentage in Seventh Standard public examination in Guntur district improved by 3 per cent from 91 per cent last year to 93.98 per cent this year and girls fared marginally better than boys. District Collector G. Jayalakshmi releasing the results on Monday evening congratulated the teachers of Government and Municipal schools for impressive performance by their students. While 94.17 per cent of 27,931 girl students passed out only 93.82 per cent of 32,378 boys were successful. While the top rank with 586 marks out of 600 was that of a private school, the second rank went to an aided school student, District Education Officer K. Chandra Mohan said. Out of 60,309 students who appeared 56,680 passed out from the district.
