BANGALORE: A housewife was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs. 25,000 in Subramanyapura police station limits on Sunday evening. Police said that around 5 p.m. a man accosted Gunavathi (35), while she was walking towards a shop in Canara Bank Colony in Gowdanapalya, and snatched her chain. The Subramanyapura police have registered a case.
Suicide
An unidentified man aged around 35 years committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Lakshmipura burial ground on CMH Road. A passer-by, who noticed the body on Monday morning, informed the police. The Indiranagar police have registered a case.
Arrested
The Ulsoor Gate police have arrested Kranthi (18) of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on charges theft and recovered from him gold ornaments, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets, together worth Rs. 1 lakh. The accused had stolen the articles from people at crowded bus stations in the city.
