The electronic queue-less reservation system is one of the unique features adopted by the Kozhikode railway station in recent past. Applicants just have to take a token number and wait for their turn till their serial numbers are flashed on the counters. Chairs have been provided in the hall of the computerised reservation complex for them to wait. However, on Monday evening the facility developed snags, forcing the reservation officials to switch over to the normal mode of the first-come-first-serve queue system. Initially they tried to announce the serial numbers enabling the applicants to approach a particular counter to reserve or cancel tickets. On Tuesday, after the authorities failed to restore the facility the passengers themselves made a self-regulation system using the five rows of chairs, each having 20-25 seats as a queue.
