MADURAI : Twenty teams will participate in the ninth annual Kothaiammal Memorial Trophy State-level hockey tournament from Thursday. Defending champion Tamil Nadu Special Police, SDAT-TNHA, State Champion, G.K. Motors, Madurai, City Police, Chennai, Adambakkam H.C, Jothi S.C. Palayamkottai, Thirunagar H.C. and host Ever Great HC are some of the teams. Organised by the Ever Great Hockey Club, the matches will be held at the Government Higher Secondary School ground and Thai Matriculation HSS ground at Vadipatti near here. The final is slated for May 21.
Srinivasan elected
At Karaikudi, M. Srinivasan was elected president of the Sivaganga District Football Association at the Annual General Meeting here on Sunday. Other office-bearers: Vice-presidents: V.R. Solaimalai (Manachai) and V. Chidambaram (Kottaiyur). Secretary: D. Nagarajan (Kalanivasal). Assistant secretary: N. Selvaraj (Kandanur). Treasurer: A. Veerapandian (A. Pudur). Executive Committee: A.R. Narayanan (Karaikudi), M.R. Arunachalam (K. Palaiyur), S. Ravichandran (Kothari), K.M. Sirajudeen (Ilayankudi), G. Sabarathinam (Velangudi), C.H. Solaimalai (Karuviyapatti), P.R. Mahendran (Alagapuri).
