Jayaraj in last eight

BANGALORE: Jayaraj Prasanna entered the quarterfinals of the boys' under-14 event at the Kinesis AITA Talent Series tennis championship with a 9-7 victory over Azad Jaffer here on Tuesday.

Subbaiah, Nidhi excel

N.C. Subbaiah of CEA was adjudged champion rider in the senior section of Equest 2006 championship, which was held at Embassy International Riding School here from May 10 to 14.

Nidhi Dev was named the best young rider while Nadia Haridass of EIRS took the pride of place in the junior section. Other winners were Ayesha Kapur and Hassan Mubarak (best child rider) and Murphy of CEA (best show jumper). Kalif was declared as the champion dressage horse while Silvano and Butter Sponge were named as the champion horse and champion combine horse respectively.

AITA Super Series

The Belgaum District Lawn Tennis Association will conduct the AITA Super Series (under-16) tennis championship at Belgaum from May 22 to 26. Qualifying rounds will be played on May 20 and 21. BEL OC posts win

The BEL Officers Club defeated Bowring Institute 709-629 in a Century Inter-Club snooker championship league match here at the Century Club premises.
