Gujarat private medical students join strike
Special Correspondent
AHMEDABAD:
The students of several private medical colleges in Gujarat on Tuesday joined the agitation by their counterparts in the government medical colleges in protest against the reservation policy and the police excesses on the medical students in Mumbai and Delhi.
As the health services were further affected by the indefinite strike since Monday by the junior doctors and internees in most of the government hospitals in the State, the hospital authorities cancelled all summer vacation leave of the senior doctors and asked them to report for duty immediately.
Even as the agitating students continued with their protest demonstration of cleaning cars, roads or even polishing shoes, some private medical college students took out a scooter rally in Ahmedabad while the students in Vadodara have planned to take out a huge rally on Wednesday.
